and discharging cooling water from the thermal power

to a plan of action to save Pulicat lake from further
environmental degradation and to protect its prawn
and fishing nurseries, aquaculture, migratory birds,
turtles and groves.
- Promote
and sustain the Pulicat lake as bird sanctuary
- Explore
avenues of opportunity to promote eco-tourism with
trekking, bird watching and aquqtic sports.and link
it with Dutch heritage sites of Pulicat.
- Empower
the local community to develop themselves with capacity
building, capital formation and wealth generation
so as to enable them to manage their environmental
and ecological resources.
